LivinGlobe presents the SPA Relaxation Dome

Bad Aibling

Immersive cinema in a bathing landscape

From now on visitors at the new spa facility “Therme Bad Aibling” near Munich (Germany), can add another dimension to the usual pleasant water treatments: they can dive into unknown worlds. With an immersive film projection, LivinGlobe creates an extraordinary cinematic experience. In the relaxed atmosphere of the dome being filled with warm curbed light and cool sounds, the spa guests can enjoy a film program specially produced for the spa Bad Aibling. "We are very proud to have delivered the first 360° film projection in a spa facility for the dome landscape built by the famous architectural team of Behnisch & Partner, Germany , a spectacular architecture using domes as their basic element for all different kinds of treatments and pools at the spa. From the very beginning, the architectural team and the cultural open-minded city of Bad Aibling were partners interested in our dome films and its unique projection technology", say Bettina Pfändner and Harald Singer, the directors of LivinGlobe.

Four programs are currently available:

"The Water Symphony" by director Harald Singer, presents 20 minutes of "visual music" showing the element of water in its different physical conditions, abstract as dancing water to concrete in the shape of running water, waterfalls, clouds and waves. The film ends with fascinating abstract ice structures. The production of this film was only possible due to the production technology developed and patented by LivinGlobe for the creation of high resolution dome images .This technology made it possible to bring real film images into the dome – it is an internationally unique technology. The result speaks for itself: enchanting image compositions combined with the powerfully and sensitively composed music by Guido Hieronymus set emotions free. The smooth power of the element water becomes tangible and perceptible. Shooting took place in Bavaria and Austria, the postproduction work was done at Wispir Studios, the LivinGlobe partner studio in the U.S.

"Under Water" takes the audience into the underwater world of the Caribbean. The film material for this production was shot by ALDEBARAN, the German Marine Research & Broadcast ship during its last research trip to the Caribbean. LivinGlobe created a dome film from these images.

SkySkan Europe was LivinGlobe’s technical partner for the 360° dome projection. Both the projection technology and the sound system were specially designed for the needs of that dome. In the intervals between the films the guests can relax by watching colorful, abstract patterns, which are generated in real time accompanying the music.
